Justin Larson Biography
When Justin Lee Larson came into this world 20 years ago, it’s surprising that doctors did not find a steering wheel in his hands. Larson has accomplished more behind the wheel of a racecar than the most seasoned veterans that he beats on a weekly basis, but the sky is the limit when it comes to this young driver’s abilities.
May of 1996, Justin Larson first leaped into the world of auto racing. At the young age of eight, Justin lit up the kart tracks of central and South Florida. In 1997, Justin began racing on the national level in the World Karting Association. A few short years later, in 1999, Justin would find himself in the winner’s circle enough times to grab his first WKA National Championship.
During the same year, Justin would also take home championship trophies from throughout Florida as well as on the Grand National circuit. Justin’s racing career continued to exceed normal expectations.
Before his departure from WKA, he would claim seven National Championships, 11 State Championships, 10 Grand National Championships and 29 Fast Time awards. In addition, Justin received numerous accolades and invites from famed racing schools like Skip Barber, where he was honored with a scholarship and a “Sweet 16” invitation.
Adding to Justin’s many other accomplishment, he was also a finalist in the East Coast Red Bull Driver Search. In 2005, Justin moved from karts to stock cars where he continued to demonstrate great talent, ability and dedication. In the Florida Mini Stock series, Justin raced to a sixth-place finish in points and the Rookie of the Year title.
Justin broke out as an emerging star in the short track racing ranks on the fast track to stardom in 2006. He ran up front on a consistent basis in the Goodyear Challenge Late Model series. His Late Model success caught the eye of the judging panel of the All American Driver Challenge in 2006 and again in the winter before the 2007 season.
In 2007, Justin competed throughout the State of Florida in both the Goodyear Challenge Late Model Series and the Sunbelt Super Late Model Series. His success would continue as he would find his way into the Winner’s Circle and claim numerous top five finishes as well as fast time awards.
In March of 2008, Larson would make his first start in the ASA Late Model South Series Division which travels throughout the Southeast United States. At every race, he would find himself in contention for a win. Larson would go on to earn four top five finishes and claim the Rookie of the Year title. The Skinner Nurseries ASA Late Model also traveled to the famous Bristol Motor Speedway where Justin would claim the fast time award and set a new track record.
This year, Justin is after the ASA Late Model South Series Championship with a vengeance behind the wheel of the Skinner Nurseries #88 Late Model. He is very fortunate to have the support of a loving family, a large group of friends, a hard-working team and the backing of many loyal sponsors, all of which are trying to help Justin reach his dream of a star in the highest levels of racing.
