The Justin Larson Racing, Inc. team attended the ASA Late Model Series Annual Banquet
The Justin Larson Racing, Inc. team attended the ASA Late Model Series Annual Banquet in Toledo, Ohio the weekend of January 9th-11th. Coming from the white sandy beaches of Clearwater, Florida, Justin, his family, and crew members got to experience a little change of pace.
The forecast called for several inches of snow between Friday and Saturday. That was indeed the case. After attending several seminars during the day Friday and the mandatory Driver/Owner meeting Saturday morning, the team decided it was time to experience what life up north was really like.
After venturing out to find a snow boogie and a few feet of rope, the minivan engine was fired and it was off to the races. Next to the hotel was a vacant parking lot where the snow accumulation was close to 10 inches. The team all got a chance to take a ride on the snow boogie around the makeshift racetrack of their own, with Justin’s dad Larry behind the wheel. Also along for the ride was Justin’s fellow Floridian friend and competitor, Dustin Dunn.
After a few hours of fun, it was finally time to help celebrate what each team in the ASA Late Model Series had accomplished throughout the year. For Justin and his team, they would be celebrating the coveted Rookie of the Year title along with finishing 3rd overall in the 2008 ASA Late Model South Series Division.
After a long evening of dinner, drinks, dancing and celebrating, the Justin Larson Racing, Inc. team would close the books on what is to be considered a very successful 2008. For 2009, Justin has his sights set on the ASA Late Model Series South Division Championship. The team is also planning to run a few ASA Challenge Division races such as those at Bristol Motor Speedway where he currently holds the ASA track record. Justin Larson is already gearing up for Speedweeks where the team plans on running the Super Late Model on select nights. For now, it is back to work in the shop.
