Larson Finishes in Top-Ten at Billie Harvey Memorial 100
05/06/2010 - After qualifying fifth at New Smyrna Speedway for the Billie Harvey Memorial Super Late Model event, Justin had a strong outing until bad luck played a part in "what might have been". With thirty laps remaining in the race, Larson was running a strong second behind Tim Russell.
After a caution bunched the field back together, the Reno Power Chevrolet #88 and another driver made incidental contact in turn four, causing Justin to spin and send the caution flag flying once again.
With what looked to be minimal damage to the car, Larson got the car fired up and rolling again.
He felt the steering wasn't up to par so he and the team decided to bring the car down pit road and check things over. At this point, Justin decided to take up the rear of the field and make the best out of what he had left to work with. Still, Justin managed to pass several cars and finish up in the eighth spot.
Unfortunately, these weren't the results the Justin Larson Racing, Inc. team were looking for.
Last year at this event, the #88 finished second behind hot-shoe Tim Russell. There was only one more position this year for Larson to better that would put him in the winner's circle.
Justin didn't have the night he was looking for but continues to strive for success. He's hard at work in the shop preparing for the next race. You will see the Reno Power Inc./Thunder Bay Motor Chevrolet making it's way around Desoto Super Speedway on May 15th.
